New Year, New Decade, New Designs...
I-SHOT continues to lead the way with new product designs in the shooting sports industry with this new release for 2011!!!
The design patent-pending GURKHA (see videobelow) was designed specifically for the competitive shooter, especially those that participate in IDPA and IPSC / USPSA. The core of the design comes from the fact that bag designs for the shooting sports industry has been in a “rut” with very few new designs. All the bags are basically just simple variations of the same bag over the shoulder duffel that puts too much strain on one side and is quite cumbersome. Competitive shooters have been looking for a better way to carry all their gear from their homes through all the shooting stages. We believe what better way than to have all your necessary gear inside a backpack that you can easily carry on your back to balance the weight on your back or just sling over one shoulder if that is what is preferred.
In traditional backpacks, to properly center the weight of the backpack over your hips, the heavier items should be close to your back and above the bottom one-third of the pack. With external frame backpacks, the heaviest items should be in the top one-third of the pack. With range bags, especially those at matches, the bag needs to be able to sit upright when it is dropped at any location and if a backpack was packed in the traditional manner, it is guaranteed to topple over unless it is leaning against something.
The Gurkha was designed ground up to accommodate the target users’ specific needs. It is designed to hold the heaviest items on the bottom. What would the competitive shooter carry that is heavier than ammo? As such, the Gurkha has a revolutionary reinforced bottom compartment of the bag that is designed specifically to house ammo. This compartment has sufficient space to hold at least 6 boxes of 9mm etc…..You access this compartment from the back of the backpack. The padded lower rear of the backpack that adds additional comfort to the lower back is where you find the opening to this compartment. It opens and closes with the help of Velcro.
The back of this backpack is heavily padded with a zippered compartment that allows the user to carry a hydration bladder (it has a port above for the tube to protrude from) or the user can also safely carry an iPad or notebook in this compartment.
