About the Author
 

Receiving his first permit to carry at the age of 18, David Kenik has been an avid shooter for over twenty years.  He is a certified NRA instructor and a regular competitor in IDPA and IPSC matches. His interests include not only handguns, but shotguns and rifles as well.

David learned the shooting craft the hard way...practice and testing.  Reading gun magazine after gun magazine, experience taught him not everything that is printed is true.  That hard won realization was the catalyst for the writing of this book.

His professional training began with his first of several courses at Lethal Force Institute and continued with instruction from other internationally recognized use of force programs in the judicious use of lethal force, firearms, defensive shooting, weapon disarming and retention, edged weapons, and defensive sprays.

As a gun rights advocate, David co-founded and is a Past Chairman of Citizens Rights Action League, a state-wide group that advocates the right to self-defense and lobbies against gun control legislation in Rhode Island.

Under his leadership CRAL was, and continues to be, an effective force against restrictions upon law-abiding citizens.

David Kenik is the co-founder and Executive Director of the Police Officers Safety Association, Inc, a non-profit organization that offers enhanced training to law enforcement officers.
